Premier Health Urgent Care is a part of Premier Health’s comprehensive network of health care services. Urgent care is available to you and your family when you have nonemergency, yet urgent, medical issues at times when you can’t get an appointment with your primary care provider.

Following are answers to frequently asked questions, to give you a better understanding of the role of urgent care in your health care, and how much it costs:

When should I use an urgent care facility?

An urgent care facility is a place you can go to get medical care for issues that aren’t emergencies, and when you are unable to get into your primary care provider:

• After office hours
• On a weekend
• On days when your provider doesn’t have appointments available and your issue can't wait until an appointment is open

Some examples of times you might visit an urgent care could include:

• You’re sick
• You cut yourself doing yardwork
• Your child falls and complains of arm or leg pain

Most times after you visit an urgent care for treatment, it’s a good idea to follow up with your primary care doctor.

During your visit, the health care provider at an urgent care will tell you whether you need to follow up as soon as possible or make an appointment sometime in the future. 

Also, sometimes an urgent care visit for one concern – a cut on your hand, for example – could reveal an unrelated issue, such as high blood pressure. In this case, you would want to follow up with your primary care provider to make sure your hand is healing well, and for ongoing treatment for your blood pressure.

Urgent care facilities are a great tool available in your health care toolbox. However, it’s important to visit urgent care facilities only when your primary care provider is unavailable.

Your primary care provider doesn’t just give you quick fixes for illnesses and injuries. He or she knows your health history, provides preventive care, and can counsel you through personalized treatment and care plans as you need them.

Urgent care should be used only when necessary. Your primary care provider should be thought of as your medical home base.

How Much Does Urgent Care Cost?

Premier Health Urgent Care can be an affordable option when you need timely treatment but not emergency care.

Your insurance may cover all or some of the cost of your urgent care visit, and Premier Health accepts most major insurance plans including Medicare and workers’ compensation.

Premier Health Urgent Care does not accept the following insurance plans:

• CareSource (any CareSource plan)
• Molina (any Molina plan)
• Buckeye Medicaid or Buckeye Medicare
• UnitedHealthcare Medicaid
• Humana Military/Tricare

Urgent Care Price Guide

Basic Visit - $95

Urgent care visit with one main complaint that requires minor treatment, with no lab tests or additional procedures. Evaluation and treatment of additional health care needs may incur additional fees.

• Pink eye (Conjunctivitis)
• Corneal abrasions

Advanced Visit - $175

Urgent care visit with one main complaint which includes one in-house test such as low complexity lab draws. Evaluation and treatment of additional health care needs may incur additional fees.

• Abdominal pain
• Asthma
• Back pain
• Bloody nose
• Dizziness
• Extremity sprains and strains
• Headache, migraines
• Low complexity lab draws
• Simple skin lesions
• Sinus infection (Sinusitis)
• Pneumonia

Comprehensive Visit - $225

Urgent care visit with one main complaint which includes one X-ray series, fractures, dislocations, foreign body removal, etc. Evaluation and treatment of additional health care needs may incur additional fees.

• Burns less than 10% body surface
• Complex skin disorders
• Dislocations
• Foreign body removal
• Fractures
• Nail plate removal
• Splinting and immobilizers
• Suture greater than 2.6 - 8 cm
• One X-ray series

Complex Visit - $295

Urgent care visit with one main complaint which includes multiple X-ray series, laceration repairs, EKG, etc. Evaluation and treatment of additional health care needs may incur additional fees.

• Severe allergic reaction (Anaphylaxisa)
• Complex wounds and lesions
• Multiple X-ray series

Urgent care stabilization until transfer to emergency center. Please contact 911 if you are having a life-threatening emergency.
